Marijuana legalization has been a heavy discussion in congress lately. Supporters has been pushing the marijuana bill to legalize cannabis federally.
Last month in April, Senate majority leader Mitch McConnell introduce a bill to legalize hemp while the minority leader Chuck Schumer announced that he would introduce a bill to lift federal ban on cannabis and allow states to decide if they want to legalize.
The support on these bill will push the legalization of marijuana. The long list of legalization bills which already head to congress - it's not likely that we'll see reform before the midterm elections.
Most politicians see marijuana as a controversial issue. Candidates such as Cynthia Nixon (New York), Kevin DeLeon (California) and Beto O' Rourke (Texas) has been bringing the issue of legalization to office holders.
Legalization will be a challenge with politicians such as Chairman of the House Rules Committee Rep., Pete Sessions, who oppose marijuana reform.
It will be a while before all the politicians agree and change their minds, but lets hope that we one day will see legalization occur.
