With reports of when marijuana will be legal in Canada, Canada is all set to legalize cannabis by the end of this summer.
Parliamentary Secretary for the Minister of Public Safety Mark Holland reported to Canadian news program The West Block that Canadians will be able to buy weed by the end of September.
Opposition to Cannabis legalization largely comes from the more conservative senate.
The Canadian House of Commune voted on bill C-45, which legislates the sale and use of cannabis.
The senate passed bill C-45 in a Second Reading vote last week. Government officials will investigate the marijuana legislation at a senate committee.
Getting marijuana legislation through the senate is due June 7.
The Government of Canada wants to authorities time to create their own cannabis infrastructure which means preparing local police and deciding on marijuana sale and restrictions.
