Marijuana is coming to New Mexico after two separate bills (one by the House Democrats, one by Senate Republicans) were approved by committees. The bills both provide and illustrate on how marijuana legalization should proceed.
The House Judiciary Committee passed the bills on Saturday. The House Bill 356 is closet to become law in the state. The bills give permission for individuals to posses up to two grams of cannabis and grow up to six plants for personal use. The bill will also clear convictions of low-level cannabis charges.
The Senate's Republicans have accepted that recreational marijuana is an impending fact in their state, New Mexico's republicans have introduced their own plan for recreational marijuana.
The Republicans also proposed legislation, Senate Bill 577 , that would not allow home grow operation opting instead for complete control by a state cannabis control commission. The bill passed the Senate Public Affairs Committee.
More states are passing the bill to legalize marijuana as cannabis is growing throughout the country.
